Today I reveal to you my self-portrait of a lifetime. I have been working on it, alone and in secret, since 1997. It is a rich collection that examines the individual need for self-definition and questions the ability of photography to portray identity. I confess without regret that: "I've spent half my life in a photo booth, and that I've spent part of my salary on passport photos." And I have insisted on the use of this type of photography, making it the medium and method of this project. I admit it: "I'm a photo booth junkie" and my addiction goes back to when they were still analog. For decades I have used these street machines as if they were my own, portraying people known and unknown. I can't help but track them down, test their contrasts and even keep coins in a separate wallet just in case I need a good dose.
